Wendy Giebink – Special Programs Director

Wendy is a lifelong educator with a degree in Elementary Education from the University of South Dakota.  She’s been working with kids in one capacity or another for as long as she can remember.  After 18 years as the liaison for homeless families and children in the largest school district in her home state, she found NAMI.  While working with the Family to Family program, Wendy realized she could play a part in helping families like hers.  Less than a year later, she was the Executive Director of NAMI South Dakota.  After 9 years in that position, she moved to Colorado, where she is happily working on special projects for NAMI.  Her passions include gardening, observing nature, storytelling, and most of all, family.
